Assistant Nurse Manager – OR
Sacramento, California | Onsite | Full-Time
Base Salary: $190,000 – $210,000
Position Overview
The Assistant Nurse Manager – OR supports daily OR operations, staffing, resource allocation, patient safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and staff development within a 24/7 acute-care environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise OR staff, daily operations, assignments, and resource utilization.
Support patient safety, quality improvement, risk management, and clinical standards.
Maintain survey readiness, mock rounds, and Joint Commission compliance.
Support emergency preparedness and hospital response planning.
Assist with staffing, productivity, budget, and utilization management.
Coach, mentor, and develop nursing staff.
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe patient care.
Support labor relations and union-environment operations.
Monitor performance metrics and implement operational improvements.
Maintain clinical competency and perform clinical duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Active California RN License.
BLS certification at hire.
Associate’s degree or higher in Nursing, Healthcare, Business, or related field.
Minimum 2 years of patient care experience.
Minimum 1 year of leadership experience.
Ideal Candidate
5+ years of Main OR RN experience in an inpatient acute-care setting.
Previous OR leadership experience as Charge RN, Lead, Preceptor, Supervisor, or similar.
BSN and/or CNOR strongly preferred.
Experience in a large union hospital preferred.
IntraOp/Main OR experience required; ambulatory OR experience is a plus.
