About This Role
The Operating Room Nursing Professional Development Practitioner (Nurse Educator) at Strong Memorial Hospital is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for OR nursing staff. This role is ideal for experienced nurses who are passionate about fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence in surgical care.

What You'll Do
Complete defined scope and standards of practice.
Engage in environmental scanning to identify practice gaps.
Collaborate with others to improve practice and healthcare outcomes.
Function as a learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, and leader.
Support learning, change, professional role competence, and growth.
Design, implement, and evaluate educational programs for OR nursing staff.
Develop and deliver orientation programs for newly hired perioperative nurses and surgical technologists.
Plan and coordinate ongoing competency assessments.
Design continuing education programs based on evidence-based practice.
Requirements
Education:
BSN required, Master's in Nursing or Education required
Experience:
3–5 years of recent experience in an OR setting, preferably in a Level 1 Trauma Center
Licenses & Certifications:
Current RN License in New York
Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) required
