Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a license (required for submission).

Additional Details:

Required Credentials: Successful graduation from a Surgical Technologist training program/school or a minimum of one year of experience in OR scrub nursing (may be waived at the discretion of the OR Supervisor).

Shift & Scheduling: Monday-Friday. Hours may vary; additional hours vary depending on case load. Willing to work different shifts, take call and work weekends as scheduling demands.

Unit Details: The role includes both surgical technologist and sterile processing responsibilities. Surgical technologist duties include selecting instrument sets based on the proposed surgery, possible complications and surgeon preferences; scrubbing, gowning and gloving team members; draping patients; handling instruments; maintaining sterile technique; counting sponges and sharps with the circulating nurse; assisting as first assistant to the surgeon as needed; and identifying and preserving surgical specimens. Sterile processing duties include checking equipment for defects, cleaning and sterilizing tools, organizing instrument trays and inventory, stocking crash carts, distributing instruments, and operating and monitoring steam autoclaves and sonic washers.

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• CST (Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA)) or the alternative certifications CORST, NCORST, NCST, NCST, NRCST, TS-C

• CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician (HSPA))
