Job description
Surgical Unit AssistantThis is a Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley job. Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, performs the various duties in the surgical unit; performs non-nursing tasks in the surgical unit.Locations: Stanford Health Care Tri-ValleyWhat you will do:Assures linen is adequately stocked in warmers dailyMaintains and records all temperature logs per department process and policyPrepares gurneys and beds as needed for operating roomsOrganization of equipment roomDelivers specimens to laboratory in a timely mannerAssists with cleaning operating rooms at completion of each case in accordance with Infection Control guidelinesAssists with inter-operative patient positioningMaintain adequate stock of all PPE at OR entrances and throughout unitParticipates in gathering and putting away equipment and supplies as necessarySafely transports patients to and from the surgical suite as requestedMay assist with picking cases and assembling case carts for future casesProactively assists with turnover including managing OR equipment and assisting with room turnover to ensure fluid running of departmentEmployee must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the C-I-CARE Standards of the Hospital.
