Production SupervisorThe Production Supervisor will perform the daily operations to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. This position requires an understanding of concepts, methods and procedures. Perform the daily operations to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. Accountable for the quality of own work. Subject to direct operations supervision/prescribed work instructions/systems checking. Executes within a well-defined operations framework. There is generally a step by step sequence of standard operational tasks which need to be followed to achieve an end result.Roles and ResponsibilitiesOversight and management of front-line manufacturing employees. Typically managing hourly employee populations. Expected to resolve problems through the application of acquired expertise guided by precedent. Works together with people from the business unit. Contacts are under guidance and/or geared towards specifying activities, planning of activities and giving explanations on technical issues. Communicates with direct team and supervisor. Presents to internal teams on metrics, project status and research. Ability to work in other operations to cover as needed.Required QualificationsAbility to work 1st Shift (7am-3pm) Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college and 3 years of manufacturing experience OR High School Diploma/GED with a minimum 6 year's manufacturing experience Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing supervisory experienceEligibility RequirementsMust be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future This position is 100% onsite in Schenectady, NYDesired CharacteristicsEngineering or management degree Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certified Manufacturing experience relevant to heavy duty equipment Experience running projects in a machine shop environment Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex problems Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines Established project management skillsBenefits Available to YouGE Vernova employees rise to the challenge of building a world that works.
