Job description
Export Import SpecialistPosition duties and responsibilities:Review export and import documents for accuracyPrepare and present Letter of Credit DocumentsDispatch import and export loads and cargo pick-ups, confirm cargo delivered to carrier or cosigneeTrack import and export shipments and advise customer of potential schedule changes if applicable for the clientPrepare export documents, file AES and Bill of Lading Instructions, file AMS/ISF/ACI if applicable, process entries prior to vessel and customs cut-offs.Ensure timely distribution of transport documents and billing of freightNegotiate rates with carriers, utilize MAO rate management systems to quote via our service contracts and provide quotes to customersProblem solve with the Branch Manager when situations arise that can or do negatively effect our clients and their customersCommunicate with all parties in a transaction in a clear, concise, professional mannerAbove all, provide outstanding, uncompromising customer serviceRequirements:Knowledge of US Customs Regulations regarding US Exports and basic knowledge of importsCountry Requirements competenceLetter of Credit knowledge and experience preferredGood transportation background, FCL, LCL, rating, routing, documentationAbility to work in a fast paced demanding environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExport experience minimum 2+ yearsHigh school diploma, 2 or 4 year college degree beneficialQualificationsBehaviors:Team Player: Works well as a member of a groupLoyal: Shows firm and constant support to a causeLeader: Inspires teammates to follow themEnthusiastic: Shows intense and eager enjoyment and interestDetail Oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done wellDedicated: Devoted to a task or purpose with loyalty or integrityMotivations:Ability to Make an Impact: Inspired to perform well by the ability to contribute to the success of a project or the organizationGrowth Opportunities: Inspired to perform well by the chance to take on more responsibilityGoal Completion: Inspired to perform well by the completion of tasksFlexibility: Inspired to perform well when granted the ability to set your own schedule and goalsFinancial: Inspired to perform well by monetary reimbursementEducation:Bachelors or better.Experience:3 years: Freight Forwarding industry experienceEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
