And our success allows Design Within Reach to support causes that align with our values, so we can build a more sustainable, equitable, and beautiful future for everyone.General PurposeAs an Operations Supervisor, you'll lead and coordinate the day-to-day activities for the assigned shift, including that all resources are assigned in a manner to meet or exceed safety, quality, customer service, and operation objectives.Essential FunctionsIdentify issues affecting customer satisfaction caused by operational issues and act as a key change agent for the organization in developing solutions.Manage inventory related functions to achievement of goals for operational metrics, including shipping time, order fill rate, inventory location, and shipping accuracy.Ensure that the annual objectives for productivity, accuracy, and timelines are met.Develop and manage a strong team, oversee training, coaching, and evaluation of all employees necessary to meet or exceed goals.Ensure that safety, security, productivity, and satisfaction of employees align with company objectivesManage warehouse inventory control programs and assure location and accuracy meets our corporate requirements.Actively measure quality and strive for continuous improvement.Continually seek ways to improve the overall distribution process and identify best practices.Maintain compliance for areas of responsibility and participate in internal and external audits.Other duties may be assigned to achieve business objectives.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.High school diploma or equivalent.5+ years of progressive, demonstrated leadership experience in operations management within a warehouse or distribution environment.Ability to lift to 50 pounds consistently.Powered Industrial vehicle experience (preferred).Mobile hand-held device experience (preferred).Strong multitasking skill.Strong inter-personal and communication ability.MS Excel and Word proficiency.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
