Job description
Ophthalmic AssistantAn ophthalmic assistant is an entry-level ophthalmic professional who works under the supervision of an optometrist or ophthalmologist (eye doctor) to provide patient care. Since an ophthalmic assistant generally sees patients before the ophthalmologist does, they must prepare the patient for the exam, performing standard tests and taking measurements. Assistant may also prepare and disinfect the equipment that the ophthalmologist uses.Education:HS Diploma/GED requiredAssociates degree preferredExperience:2- 3 years required4+ years preferredSkills:Basic patient care and computer knowledge requiredDirect patient care preferredShift: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM, no weekends or holidays.
