Technician PositionPOSITION SUMMARY: The Technician fulfills an important role in providing data that is critical to the doctor in order to provide proper care and treatment to each patient. This individual is responsible for various administrative and clinical functions, including obtaining patient histories, performing preliminary and ancillary testing, scheduling patients, preparing the exam room, and assisting the doctors with any exam needs. They ensure the practice's quality standards are met, while completing specific, essential responsibilities that pertain to the patient's experience and effective communication. POSITION LOCATION: 1601 W Lincoln Rd, Kokomo, IN 46902 WHAT WE OFFER:Starting wage of $16 - $18 per hour based on previous experience6.5 paid holidays per year + 2 floating holidaysApproximately 8 days of PTO within first yearFull slate of benefits to include health, dental, vision, and 401kGrowth and wage increase through company paid certification programESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Prepare patients for eye examinations by communicating the features and benefits of our preliminary testing procedures.Perform all preliminary and any doctor requested tests on all patients.Assist optometrist and ophthalmologist with patient procedures.Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor patient flow throughout the office, properly communicating delays.Prepare exam room by cleaning instruments and maintaining inventory of medications and supplies.Provide a safe, clean, organized and inviting environment for both patients and staff.Perform other duties and assume various responsibilities as determined by the office manager or team lead, and doctor(s).PHYSICAL DEMANDS (per ADA guidelines):Physical Activity: Standing for sustained periods of time, Stooping, Grasping, Lifting, Talking, Hearing.Physical requirements: Light work.
