Job description
Ophthalmic TechnicianAssists providers and manages clinical functions in the department. Family & Pet Support – Fertility benefits, adoption assistance, backup care for children/elders/pets, and pet insurance.Responsibilities:Completes the start of day processes, including powering equipment and uncovering keratometer/autoreftracter, visial field, Ascan room if needed.Properly rooms patients based on standard operating procedures and assists the physician during the examination and procedures.Performs diagnostic studies and treatments as ordered by the provider.Processes and assists provider with requests, including handling medication refill requests and completing forms requested by patients.Handles patient and clinical messages:Distributes, reviews, and teaches patient educationPrepares and processes paperwork for the charts; make sure ordered tests have been performed and results are present.Completes the end of day processes per standard operating procedures.Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.Performs all other duties as assigned.Maintains an organized and clean work area.Participates in maintenance of clinical supplies.Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.Qualifications:Education/Training: High School Graduate or equivalentLicensure/Certification: NoneExperience: Strong customer service orientation, Strong team player, Basic Computer proficiencyOrlando Health proudly embraces and honors the individuality of our team members.
