Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Ophthalmology Physician Assistant to join our specialized eye care team full time. The ideal candidate will have or be interested in learning comprehensive clinical knowledge of ophthalmic conditions, advanced patient assessment skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with ophthalmologists and healthcare professionals. This role offers an opportunity to provide exceptional patient centered care within a dynamic clinical environment, utilizing cutting edge technology and evidence based practices. The Physician Assistant will be responsible for performing diagnostic evaluations, assisting in surgical procedures, and managing a broad spectrum of ophthalmic cases with precision and professionalism. No holidays, weekends, nights, or weekends.

Join our team as an Ophthalmology Physician Assistant to deliver innovative eye care solutions while advancing your professional expertise in a collaborative environment committed to excellence in patient outcomes!

Compensation: $120,000.00 for new graduates; higher based on ophthalmology experience. Incentive pay based on productivity negotiable

Work Location: In person, Monday-Friday 8-5

Responsibilities

Evaluate and manage patients under physician supervision.

Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including obtaining medical histories and conducting examinations.

Diagnose and treat common ophthalmic conditions within the PA scope of practice.

Assist physicians with in office procedures and surgical procedures.

Order, interpret, and document diagnostic tests and imaging, and learn to perform routine refractions.

Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and postoperative care.

Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently using the electronic medical record (EMR).

Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and administrative staff to ensure high quality patient care.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.

Current Physician Assistant license in the State of OR

NCCPA certification required.

DEA license (or ability to obtain).

BLS certification.

Prior ophthalmology experience preferred, but motivated new graduates with a strong interest in ophthalmology are encouraged to apply.

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to thrive in a collaborative, busy, fast paced, patient-centered environment.
