Sign on bonus eligible, up to $20,000
nJoin the dynamic eye care team that is the driving force behind the success of Henry Ford Health System's OptimEyes. This position is eligible for $10,000 sign on bonus.

nGENERAL SUMMARY:
nWorks collaboratively with the General Manager and Optometrist in Charge to ensure each patient receives the best possible care, and the office achieves productivity and performance goals. Works collaboratively with the Department of Ophthalmology to ensure the seamless delivery of eye care to all patients. Supports professional staffing and office coverage needs and ancillary staff training.
nPRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
n· Primary eye care
no Ocular health evaluation
no Eye glass prescriptions
no Contact lens prescriptions and care
no Management of eye disease
n· Comprehensive primary eye care
n· Routine eye care including comprehensive examinations, refractions, contact lens services
n· Medical eye care for acute and chronic eye diseases
n· Specialty eye care (ex. medically necessary contact lenses, dry eye clinic) privileges based on training and experienceWork with General Manager and Director of Clinical Services to maintain proper professional staffing and coverage within the clinic.
n· Professional growth and compliance with continuing education requirements to maintain licensure
n· Support ancillary staff training programs
n· Support practice building programs.
no Develop and support new relationships with Henry Ford Medical Centers, ERs, and other system entities.
no Develop and support new relationships with non-Henry Ford entities if possible including pharmacies, nursing homes, etc.
no Maintain existing relationships with key individuals.
n· Attend regularly scheduled office and staff meetings
n· Act as a role model for other staff
n· Embrace best practices to ensure that we are providing the highest possible level of professional care.
nEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
nnnSuccessful completion of the program from a school of Optometry.
n
nnPrevious direct patient care experience.
n
nnExperience in primary care optometry, preferred
n
n nCERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
nnnLicensed as an Optometrist in the State of Michigan.
n
nnMust be T.P.A./D.P.A. certified.
n
nnMust meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors as outlined in the HFHS’ Customer Service Policy
n
nnMust practice the customer skills as provided through on-going training and in-services.
n
n nPHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
nnnWorks in a retail optical environment.
n
nnRequires evening and weekend hours.
