Job description
Newsom Eye is seeking a patient-focused Optometrist to join our established, multi-specialty ophthalmology practice in our Tampa, FL facility. We are committed to delivering the highest quality of vision care while maintaining a positive, professional, and compassionate environment for both patients and team members. Our ideal candidate is clinically strong, communicates well, and thrives in a fast-paced medical setting.
Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive eye exams for new and established patients
Diagnose and manage ocular disease
Provide contact lens fittings and follow-up care
Co-manage cataract, refractive, glaucoma, and cornea patients with our surgical team
Educate patients on treatment plans and vision care
Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation
Collaborate with ophthalmologists, technicians, and clinical staff to support efficient patient flow
Qualifications:
Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree
Active Florida license (or ability to obtain)
Strong clinical and interpersonal communication skills
Experience in medical optometry preferred
Ability to work effectively in a busy, team-oriented environment
