Job description
Sterile Processing TechnicianAs a Sterile Processing Technician for STERIS, you'll work behind the scenes of healthcare facilities in a fast-paced environment, impacting patient safety without being patient facing. Working in the Sterile Processing Department, you will support surgical procedures by ensuring medical instruments are clean, sterile, organized, and available for the surgical team. You will use your skills and knowledge to perform scheduled and unscheduled tasks independently and in compliance with the Department of Health, TJC, DNV, OSHA, CDC, AAMI, and AORN standards.This is an onsite role at a STERIS facility based in Concord, NC, supporting 3rd shift, 10:30p to 7:00a Monday through Friday.What You'll Do as a Sterile Processing Technician III:Reprocess surgical trays post-surgery; ensuring they are decontaminated, cleaned, inspected, sterilized, correctly assembled within a timely manner and ready for the next caseOperate sterile processing washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic and drying cabinetsParticipate in regular on-site trainingThe Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed:Required:High School diploma or GED2+ years of SPD experience with demonstrated proficiency in all SPD Technician responsibilities, including a solid proficiency and ability to work independently with all tray sets.CRCST/ CSPDT, CST or CER/CFER, CST certification is required. Must also obtain CIS/CSIS, CHL/CSPM or STERIS Assessment certification within 12 months of hire.Must maintain certification by completing 12 Continuing Education Credit Hours annuallyPreferred:Completion of a Sterile Processing or Surgical Technologist programWhat STERIS Offers:STERIS is a global organization offering full time opportunities to join our growing team.
