Job description

Order Preparation OperatorReporting to Order Prep Supervisor, the primary purpose of the Order Preparation Operator is to ensure all orders are fulfilled in a safe and timely manner while meeting the expectations of our customers. As a member of the RS team, this position will support an organizational culture that cares for others' well-being through best practices in health and safety, in addition to the company's values of respect, integrity, quality, teamwork and professional growth.Responsibilities:Prepare modules and poles for customer shipment including cutting to length, hole layout and drilling and any other requirements specified on the drawingVerify materials, quantities, and product identification before processingPreparation of dunnage and nesting of modules for shipmentPrepare orders in a timely mannerAssist in training of order preparation employees as requiredParticipating in continuous improvement activitiesAdhere to all safety procedures and PPE requirements by maintaining a clean and safe work environment and complying with all Company policies as well as Provincial and Federal RegulationsOther duties as assignedTraining / Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required.Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience required; 2+ years of construction experience preferred.Forklift/Lift Truck certification preferred but not required.This position requires excellent fine motor skills, strong hand-eye coordination, and exceptional attention to detail. Responsibilities include drilling holes, installing identification tags, top caps, and other hardware components with precision. Candidates must be comfortable working with small parts and performing detailed assembly tasks. The ability to accurately read, interpret, and mark both imperial and metric measurements is essential.Proficient in the safe operation of a variety of hand and power tools, including saws, drills, nail guns, impact wrenches, and other fabrication equipment.Working knowledge of 5S principles and lean manufacturing practices is preferred.Ability to read, interpret, and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, and dimensional specifications.Working Conditions:Industrial manufacturing/production environment.Exposure to hot and humid conditions within the plant.Frequent physical activity, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, and walking.Regular interaction with heavy machinery, moving equipment, and limited handling of chemicals within the production area.Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.Physical Requirement:Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate computers, equipment, and tools.Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and occasional kneeling or crouching, as required.Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 20 pounds.Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and work safely in the assigned work environment.What's In It For You:Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage through Cigna.401(k) retirement plan with a company match of up to 5%.Paid time off and company holidays.A collaborative team environment focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.Why RS?At RS Technologies, we are redefining the future of utility infrastructure.
