Job Description:

If you want to make a significant impact as an Orientation & Mobility Specialist (O&M) in School setting, in Overland Park, KS this position might be what you are looking for!

Responsibilities: Conduct orientation and mobility assessments for students with visual impairments.

Develop and implement mobility goals as part of the student's IEP.

Teach safe travel skills, spatial awareness, and use of mobility aids (e.g., long cane).

Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student independence.

Participate in IEP meetings and maintain required documentation.

Qualifications: Certification as an Orientation & Mobility Specialist (COMS) issued by the National Blindness Professional Certification Board

National Orientation and Mobility Certification (NOMC) issued by the National Blindness Professional Certification Board

Orientation & Mobility Specialist Certification (PK-12)

Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) endorsement with O&M specialization

Special Education certification with O&M authorization

Job details: Pay: $2,117.72 - $2,183.22 / week

Location: Overland Park, KS

Assignment Length: 35

Shift: Day - up to 37.50 hours per week
