Job description

Orthodontic Assistant PositionWeaver Orthodontics is seeking a skilled and motivated Orthodontic Assistant to join our growing team in Brunswick, GA. This role is essential in delivering exceptional patient care, supporting clinical procedures, and ensuring a smooth, efficient workflow within the practice. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, team-focused, and passionate about creating positive patient experiences.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical & Chairside AssistingPrepare and maintain orthodontic instruments, supplies, and equipmentAssist the orthodontist during procedures, including bonding and appliance placementTake dental X-rays, iTero scans, and digital photographsPerform clinical tasks such as: Placing/removing separators, bands, and archwiresChecking brackets and bands at each visitRemoving adhesives and cementDocument treatments and chart procedures accuratelyPatient Care & EducationGreet and seat patients, ensuring a welcoming experienceEducate patients and parents on oral hygiene, appliances, and treatment progressMotivate patients to follow treatment plans and maintain complianceInfection Control & SterilizationFollow OSHA, CDC, and office infection control protocolsSterilize and disinfect instruments and treatment areasMaintain cleanliness and organization of clinical spacesLaboratory & Technical DutiesManage aligners and appliancesDigitally trim models and assist with appliance fabricationPrepare materials for bonding and indirect bonding proceduresPractice Growth & Patient EngagementSupport practice marketing and referral initiativesBuild relationships with referring providers and the local communityParticipate in patient engagement activities (contests, follow-ups, surveys)Administrative & Miscellaneous DutiesMaintain inventory and clinical suppliesOrganize and stock operatories and sterilization areasAssist with patient records, referrals, and specialist coordinationParticipate in team meetings and contribute to a positive team culturePerform additional duties as assignedTravel RequirementTravel to our Jesup office weekly (Thursdays)Transport necessary equipment (e.g., iTero scanner, supplies)QualificationsEducation & CertificationsExpanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) certificationRadiology/X-ray certificationCPR certificationState licensure (if applicable)ExperienceMinimum 1 years of orthodontic or dental assisting experience requiredRecent graduates may be considered, but experience is strongly preferredTechnical SkillsExperience with: DolphinDental MonitoringInvisalignEasyRxWeaveProficiency with digital imaging, charting systems, and multitasking across platformsCore CompetenciesStrong clinical and technical skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesTeam-oriented mindset with a positive attitudeStrong problem-solving and organizational skillsPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 40 lbsHigh manual dexterity and attention to detailAbility to stand, sit, bend, kneel, and reach as needed throughout the dayClear verbal communication and adequate hearing/vision (with correction if needed)Schedule & BenefitsFull-Time | 36 hours/week | 4–5 days/weekFull benefits available after 90 daysWhy Join Weaver Orthodontics?At Weaver Orthodontics, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality care in a supportive, team-driven environment.
