nGeneral Orthopaedic Surgeon (MD/DO) - Siler City, NC

nThe Department of Orthopaedics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is recruiting a full‑time General Orthopaedic Surgeon to practice at UNC Chatham Hospital in Siler City, North Carolina, as part of the UNC Faculty Physicians (UNCFP) Statewide Physician Model. This position is a university‑affiliated role overseen by the Department of Orthopaedics and aligned with the UNC School of Medicine. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive general orthopedic care and develop a broad-based orthopedic practice serving Chatham County and the surrounding region. While the primary focus of the role is clinical care, the position offers affiliation with an academic medical center and opportunities for academic engagement. This role is designed to support the continued growth of orthopedic services across Chatham County, strengthen local access to musculoskeletal care, and enhance coordination with UNC Medical Center for patients requiring higher acuity services. The surgeon in this role will practice with a high degree of autonomy and should be comfortable functioning independently in a community environment while collaborating closely with UNC Orthopaedics faculty.
nAdditional Details:
nnnPosition is based at UNC Chatham Hospital, with additional clinic time in Siler City and Pittsboro.

nnBroad-scope general orthopedic practice; ability to manage a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions is essential.
n
nnMD/DO, with the completion of an orthopedic surgery residency.
n
nnFellowship training is not required, though training in trauma or sports medicine aligns well with anticipated community needs.
n
nnDue to the autonomous nature of this role, prior independent practice experience is strongly preferred.
