We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthopedic Physical Therapist to join our team at Locomotion Restore Physical Therapist Services in Edison, New Jersey. This is a full-time position suited for a compassionate healthcare professional passionate about helping patients regain mobility and improve their quality of life through evidence-based therapies and personalized treatment plans.

We primarily serve patients with private medical insurance, allowing us to focus on personalized treatment without the constraints of managed care environments.
Work Environment
The work setting is onsite, fostering a collaborative atmosphere in which healthcare professionals can effectively share insights and treatment strategies. Our practice operates Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, ensuring a balanced work-life schedule for our team members. As part of a close-knit group of two physical therapists and one physical therapist assistant, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a positive and supportive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and recognize their rehabilitation goals to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Manage an average patient load of one client per hour, providing dedicated attention and care.
- Utilize diverse therapeutic techniques, including manual therapy and exercise programs, to promote recovery and enhance mobility.
- Develop customized fitness and wellness programs to support the specific needs and goals of each patient.
- Emphasize non-surgical solutions and cost-effective treatments aimed at minimizing reliance on medications.
- Continuously evaluate patient progress, adjust treatment plans accordingly, and maintain clear communication with patients and caregivers.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of patient encounters and treatment provided in compliance with professional standards and EMR systems, specifically using WebPT.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to create a holistic approach to patient care.
- Motivate and educate patients throughout their recovery process, promoting healthy lifestyle choices, including improved strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will primarily work with patients undergoing recovery from orthopedic conditions, including post-surgical rehabilitation, athletic injuries, and chronic pain management. Our clientele ranges from active athletes seeking to enhance performance to older adults working towards improved functional mobility. This diverse patient population offers an enriching clinical experience as you apply your skills in real-world scenarios to make a significant impact on their health outcomes.
Qualifications
- A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program is required.
- An active Physical Therapist license in the state of New Jersey is mandatory.
- A clean license record with no board actions or disciplinary measures.
- Exceptional skills in manual therapy techniques and the ability to design and implement effective exercise programs.
- Proficiency and familiarity with EMR Software, particularly WebPT, to streamline documentation and patient management.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in orthopedic outpatient care is highly desirable.
- Experience working with diverse patient demographics is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation for this position ranges from $90,000 to $110,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
