As a Doctor's Assistant / Surgery Scheduler, you will work closely with physicians, staff, and patients to ensure a seamless, compassionate, and efficient care experience.Why You'll Love Working HereCollaborative Team EnvironmentPartner with physicians and clinical staff to provide outstanding patient care and support positive patient outcomes.Professional DevelopmentTake advantage of ongoing learning opportunities, skill enhancement, and career growth within a respected healthcare organization.Work-Life BalanceEnjoy a structured work schedule, a supportive team culture, and a comprehensive benefits package.Advanced TechnologyWork in a modern orthopedic practice that utilizes state-of-the-art technology and equipment to deliver high-quality care.What You'll DoAccurately and efficiently complete assigned tasks, including: Triaging incoming patient callsManaging task logsScheduling appointments, surgical procedures, pre-operative testing, physical therapy, and imaging servicesProcessing medication refill requestsPerforming additional administrative duties as assignedCoordinate all aspects of surgery scheduling, including: Pre-operative testingMedical and cardiac clearancesPatient educationEquipment arrangementsPost-operative care planningCollaborate with the insurance department to ensure all required authorizations are obtained prior to surgery.Arrange transportation and interpreter services when appropriate to support patient needs.Facilitate coordination of care with referring physicians, ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs), hospitals, pharmacies, laboratories, physical therapy providers, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, imaging centers, and medical supply vendors.Review and route diagnostic test results, medication requests, and other critical patient information to physicians promptly and accurately using the PAQ system. Escalate urgent results requiring immediate attention according to established protocols.Process prescription refill requests by communicating with pharmacies, verifying medication names, dosages, and directions for use (SIG), and obtaining authorization when required.Communicate effectively with front office staff regarding medication requests, prescription pickups, and other patient care needs.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Minimum of one year of surgery scheduling experience preferred.Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems; NextGen experience preferred.Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.BenefitsCompetitive compensationComprehensive medical, dental, and vision insuranceRetirement savings planPaid time off and company benefitsContinuing education and professional development opportunitiesSupportive and collaborative work environmentReady to Make a Difference?If you're passionate about helping patients navigate their surgical journey and thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment, we'd love to hear from you.
