As one of the nation's largest nonprofit Catholic healthcare organizations, CommonSpirit Health delivers more than 20 million patient encounters annually through more than 2,300 clinics, care sites and 158 hospital-based locations, in addition to its home-based services and virtual care offerings.As a Certified Medical Assistant Lead (CMA) at CommonSpirit Medical Group - Orthopedics - Ringgold, you take a leadership role in the department, acting as a trainer, resource and mentor for other Medical Assistants and staff.Every day, you will accurately preform preliminary physical tests such as: measures blood pressure, records weight, temperature, pulse and respirations and other measures as directed by established clinical protocols. To be successful in this role, you will possess strong clinical knowledge, technological fluency, genuine compassion for patient well-being, and an adaptable spirit keen on continuous learning and collaborative teamwork.Responsibilities include:Direct and guide back office staff in monitoring and expediting workflow.Handle medical supply inventory, orders, and cost control.Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.Obtain and record vital signs including but not limited to, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topically, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.Job Requirements:Required:High School Graduate or High School GED andMay require specialized training, such as Non-Certified Radiologic Technician.Certified Medical Assistant AAMA, upon hire orCertified Clinical Medical Assistant, upon hire orCertified Medical Assistant NHA, upon hire orNational Certified Medical Assistant NCCT, upon hire orNational Registered/Certified Medical Assistant NAHP, upon hire orRegistered Medical Assistant AMT, upon hire orRegistered Medical Assistant, upon hire or4 years Medical Assistant experience requiredBasic Life Support - CPR, within 30 DaysPreferred:Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant course or ExamElectronic health record experienceCommonSpirit Medical Group (Mountain Management Services) is a leading provider of comprehensive office management services and affiliated physicians in Southeast Tennessee and North Georgia.
