Job description
Seeking an experienced full-time Orthopedic Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join a growing musculoskeletal and surgical services team in Southern Maine, supporting a busy orthopedic service line in both clinical and surgical settings.
Position Highlights: Provide comprehensive orthopedic care in outpatient, inpatient, and perioperative settings
First assist in orthopedic surgeries including joint replacement, fracture repair, and sports medicine procedures
Perform pre-operative and post-operative patient evaluations and follow-up care
Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions
Order and interpret imaging studies and laboratory tests
Collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, nursing staff, and ancillary teams
Participate in a high-volume, established orthopedic service line with strong referral support
Provide patient education and individualized treatment planning
Board Certified NCCPA or eligible NP/PA certification required
Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
Active or eligible Maine state license
NCCPA certification (PA-C) or appropriate NP certification required
Two years orthopedic or surgical experience required
Strong clinical judgment and procedural interest
Excellent communication and team-based care skills
