Locums - Orthopedic Surgeon Waterloo, Iowa IMLC Accepted AvailabilityAssignment Type: Locum TenensCoverage: On-call onlyClinic Responsibilities: NoneOpen Shifts - Must Be Able to Cover: December 23, 2026 at 7:00 AM - December 28, 2026 at 7:00 AM Qualified candidates requested as soon as possible. Licensure & CertificationsRequiredBoard Certified in Orthopedic Surgery - REQUIRED Active Iowa Medical License OR Active IMLC - REQUIRED Letter of Qualification (LOQ) required with name clearly visible Orthopedic Surgery Fellowship - REQUIRED Required ExperienceExperienced Orthopedic SurgeonMust be comfortable providing inpatient orthopedic coverage and call Comfortable treating patients of all ages Experience managing:Orthopedic traumaFractures and musculoskeletal injuriesSpine, hand, foot, hip, knee, shoulder, and elbow conditionsInfections, tumors, deformities, and degenerative musculoskeletal diseases Able to perform admissions, consultations, evaluations, diagnosis, and treatmentComfortable providing care in the ICU when neededAble to assess and stabilize emergent orthopedic conditions Call ResponsibilitiesOn-call coverage only No clinic responsibilities Covers inpatient orthopedic servicePhysician must answer all incoming orthopedic consult and call requests - NON-NEGOTIABLE Practice DetailsInpatient orthopedic coverage at two local hospitals Average Daily Census: 10-20 patientsPatient Population: All agesNo supervision of Advanced Practice Providers requiredMedical Staff appointment requiredNo outreach or telehealth responsibilitiesEMR: EpicOn-site imaging, laboratory, and pharmacy services available Allow RecruitWell to set up a phone call with you and the client to discuss more!
