Job description
Retail Shift ManagerFor 53 years NOC has led the outdoor industry, taking more guests whitewater rafting and teaching more paddlers than any other outdoor recreation company. NOC also provides top-quality aerial and trail-based adventures, wilderness medicine as well as unmatched retail service, foodservice, lodging, and trip planning services.Our Retail Shift Managers assist the Store Management Team by overseeing daily operations on the sales floor and providing leadership to our Retail Sales Guides. They provide our guests with an extraordinary customer experience by sharing their passion for the activities and products that the NOC promotes.ResponsibilitiesOversee floor operations during shiftProvide solutions to any staff or guest questionsMake sure change runs are done in a timely mannerResponsible for opening/closing duties as outlined by managementEnsure Ecommerce orders from our online store are being fulfilled in a timely manner.Outline the schedule for the dayAssign and delegate all work assignments/projects to floor staffCoordinate breaks to maintain proper floor coverageDeliver a clear and cohesive plan for the staff each dayStocking and cleaningMaintain a well-stocked floorWork alongside staff to ensure a tidy and presentable floorAssist with product merchandising, stocking the sales floor, and other projects; as well as delegate these tasks to sales team membersEnsure a positive guest experienceEmbrace a high standard for guest serviceEnsure the guest is always the number one priorityProvide mediation to guests or staff when necessaryMake certain all staff are handling guests appropriatelyTraining and CommunicationTrain incoming and returning staff as neededKeep lines of communication open with management and fellow staff membersOther duties as assigned.QualificationsPreferred:Prior supervisory experience working in a retail settingCash handling experienceEnthusiastic and knowledgeable about the outdoor adventures and products that the NOC promotes and sellsKnowledge of Lightspeed retail POS systemKnowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteApplicants must:Be punctual, dependable, and proactive in communicating work availabilityFunction as a team player, take direction, and work independentlyBe willing to learn about new products and the adventure offerings local to our regionBe comfortable in a fast paced and dynamic environmentBe effective at communicating with coworkersTake ownership of the work you doAdhere to NOC Guide Handbook and Outfitter's Store specific policiesPhysical requirements and working environment:Ability to stand for long periods of timeComfortable climbing ladders and stairsAbility to stoop, bend, twistMust be able to lift 50lbsMust speak clearly and conciselyComfortable working in a guest facing positionThe above noted job description is not intended to describe, in detail, the multitude of tasks that may be assigned but rather to provide a general sense of the responsibilities and expectations of this position.
