Job description
Overview
The Lead Advanced Practice Provider, in collaboration with the manager of advanced practice, the executive director of advanced practice, and the department, coordinates and executes APP oversight at the individual department level. Duties include day-to-day oversight, staffing, onboarding, mentorship, recruitment, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing input into performance evaluations for APPs. The provider will hold a split clinical (0.8–0.9) and administrative FTE (0.1–0.2), with the administrative percentage determined by the number of direct reports and clinical oversight complexity.
Qualifications
Master’s or Doctoral degree in nursing or physician assistant studies.
Demonstrated expertise in healthcare administration, team leadership, and APP program development.
Preferred minimum of 1 year experience in an advanced practice leadership or related role.
Credentialing: Must meet requirements set forth by the Medical Staff Office to obtain and retain privileges to practice as an Advanced Practice provider within UF Health Shands Hospital and/or the Shands UF Healthcare Network, as applicable.
Licensure / Certification / Registration
Active and unrestricted Florida APRN or PA license.
National certification as an NP or PA required.
