Outside Plant ManagerCompany: Blue Ridge CommunicationsShift: Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM and other hours as neededThis position involves the direct management, training and coordination of the activities of unit installers and repair technicians as well as controlling inventory. Must have the required knowledge to properly monitor, maintain, test and troubleshoot our companies HFC broadband structure and branch network design.The Outside Plant Manager is responsible for maintaining courteous professional relationships between all BRC employees and plays a significant role in resolving system issues by working with head end staff. Will be required to inform upper management of any existing or potential issues when they arise. Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:H.S. Diploma or G.E.D.3 years' work experience in related fieldEstablished residency in PennsylvaniaValid PA Driver's License and good driving recordKnowledge of HFC Broadband architectureExperience with coax tree and branch network design, construction, and troubleshootingExperience with installation and troubleshooting modem, phone and videoKnowledge of fiber design, splicing, and troubleshootingFCC Proof of Performance, CLI, and system maintenanceUnderstanding of power supply maintenanceUnderstanding of test equipment and troubleshooting programsExperience with surveys and locatesKnowledge of OSHA, NEC, and NECS codes as it relates to the cable industryManagerial / leadership SkillsComputer and Technology Skills - Microsoft OfficeCustomer relations SkillsCommunication Skills - oral and writtenProject / Time Management SkillsInventory Control SkillsAbility to be on call and work outside normal business hours when needed.Ability to enforce company policiesAbility to monitor employees and review work performanceAbility to ensure employee safetyAbility to examine and analyze systems to determine installation, service or repair needs
