Over Dimensional Flatbed Driver Overview
Pay that rewards specialized drivers. Earn a base of 59-64CPM based on verified flatbed experience. In 2026, our solo OD drivers are on pace to earn an average of $84,000, and our top 20% average $110,000 (year-to-date gross pay, projected to year-end).*
Bonus miles that add up. Earn a monthly performance bonus of 1-4CPM on all miles, earning 1CPM for each 1,000 miles you run over your monthly mileage minimum.
Dedicated lanes that keep you moving. Run dedicated lanes with some lanes running to Ontario, Canada, with predictable routes built around a dedicated account.
Home time you can count on. Run 2-3 weeks at a time with 3.5-4 days home to reset and recharge before your next run.

Getting started: Paid orientation covers your travel, accommodations, and meals as you get rolling with SPD.
Insurance: Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, and vision insurance. HSA/FSA and prescription drug coverage are also available.
Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in the company's 401(k) plan with a company match.
Paid time off / vacation: New employees receive 40 hours of vacation leave per year.
Paid holidays: Employees receive 7 paid holidays per year.
Paid sick leave: Employees receive 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked.
Driver referral bonus: $1,500 per hired team, $500 per hired solo driver.

Extras That Add Up
Orientation pay ($1,750, paid in two installments)
Layover pay ($150/day if no load or 24hr downtime)
Detention pay ($20/hr after 4 hrs, max 8 hrs per day)
Clean inspection bonus ($75 Level 1, $50 Level 2, $25 Level 3)
Actual pay depends on experience, miles driven and performance. The wage scale and benefits described above reflect what Smokey Point Distributing reasonably expects to offer for this position as of the date of this posting.

Valid Class A CDL
1+ year of 10'-wide flatbed experience within the last 5 years
TWIC/Hazmat preferred
