Job description
Toolmaker - Night ShiftLocation Waterbury, CT. Direct Hire Night Shift 5PM to 5AM Key ResponsibilitiesBuild, repair, and maintain complex tooling, transfer fingers, and gaugesInterpret blueprints, specifications, sketches, and verbal instructionsSet up tooling for production runs and perform changeoversConduct sample runs and submit first-piece inspections for quality approvalTroubleshoot production issues and make necessary tool adjustments or repairsAdjust machine speeds, feeds, and tooling to ensure optimal performanceUse hand tools and precision equipment to grind, fit, and finish toolingPerform tool hardening according to specificationsCreate spare parts and assist with machinery repairs as neededEnter SPC data and perform basic computer data entryWork collaboratively in a team or cell-based environmentQualifications, Work Environment & Additional ResponsibilitiesStrong experience in toolmaking, preferably with deep draw or transfer press toolingAbility to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawingsKnowledge of shop math and trigonometryExperience troubleshooting and repairing production toolingApprenticeship certification is a plus, but not requiredPerform tooling changeovers efficientlySupport and guide machine operators on proper equipment useMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentTransfer Press experience – preferredDeep Draw experience – preferredEyelet Production experience – preferredHigh School diploma or equivalentAbility to pass a preemployment screeningSalary: $28 to $40+ per hour Shift 2nd (Monday-Friday 5PM-5AM) (Must be available within these hours.
