OPENING SOON! Cheeky's is a neighborhood seafood restaurant and oyster bar opening soon along St. Petersburg's Grand Central District. A mix between a salty Old Florida fish shack and a classic New England oyster bar, with a menu of classic American dishes and something for everyone.

nWe are excited to bring a fresh dining experience to the community, featuring a menu inspired by simple and classic American dishes, seasonal ingredients and bold flavors. Our restaurant is dedicated to creating a warm and inviting atmosphere where guests can enjoy exceptional food and service.

nBehind the bar we're shaking up classic drinks and serving frozen cocktails. Our wine list is full of small production and natural bottles. Light local beers on tap and a deep list of no & low alcohol drinks round out the menu. We're an easy-going spot with friendly service, good for the whole family. Grab a seat along our sidewalk patio for great people watching (dog-friendly too!) or in the dining room surrounding our horseshoe bar.

nTeam Responsibilities

Teamwork is the essential element of your position at Cheeky's. Everyone is equally responsible for ensuring the experience of our guests is extraordinary. The words "no" and "it's not my job" are never to be used. There are no boundaries in these duties, in addition to the specific job responsibilities listed.

nDishwashers are critical to the overall team success, working to prepare items to be used for service. This is a great entry level position to sharpen your skills for a career in a professional kitchen.

nThe cleanliness and maintenance of the restaurant is everyone's responsibility. Always check the floor, service stations, restrooms, etc. for debris and do not pass it by if you notice that something is needed. If you see something, say something!

nJOB DETAILS

nOur Oyster Shuckers lead busy a station during, before, during and after service with a close eye on consistency and quality. You'll have a great relationship with your Sous Chef and Executive Chef, who will provide clear expectations and support to exceed in this role.

nnCleans & prepares shellfish for serving to customers

nConsistently follow recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards

nRotates oysters daily, oldest on top

nProvide fast, accurate shucking of oysters

nRestock all items through each shift

nProvide assistance to kitchen manager and kitchen staff with food preparation

nEnsure all tools and equipment are properly stored and safely used

nFollows proper safety and sanitation processes including organizing shellfish tags

n nSKILLS

nn1+ year cook experience

nFood safety certification

nHigh-volume restaurant experience

nExcellent communication abilities

nTeam-first mindset

nWillingness to learn and grow

n nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

nnAbility to stand and walk for prolonged periods

nFrequent reaching, bending, and stooping required to serve guests and perform side work.

nMust be able to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds regularly, such as trays with food and beverages.

nAbility to move quickly and efficiently between dining and kitchen areas.

nManual dexterity required for handling small items (e.g., glassware, silverware) and operating point-of-sale (POS) systems.

nWork is performed in a fast-paced, indoor and outdoor environment that may include exposure to varying levels of noise and temperature changes.
