nSUMMARY OF POSITION:
nDiagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team. May focus on health promotion and disease prevention. May order, perform, or interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays. May prescribe. Works in an inpatient critical care area.
nMINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
nnnGraduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant Program or baccalaureate or higher degree program that meets licensure requirements in the State of employment
n
nnNational Certification in State of employment or in another State with reciprocity and licensure to practice in the State of employment
n
nnBasic Life Support (BLS) certification
