The PACE Medical Assistant works collaboratively with other health care members to provide comprehensive, quality and accessible health care services to patients under the supervision of a Physician, Nurse Practitioner, PACE Center Manager, Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse Team Leader.Essential Job FunctionsWorks closely with medical providers to provide comprehensive health care to patientsPrepares for patient visit in advance to ensure that all labs, diagnostics, hospital/ER discharge summary etc. are ready and available for the visit.Assists in the provision of clinical services such as, but not limited to, taking vital signs; performing EKG, immunizations, skin tests, vision and hearing tests, and blood draws; and collects and prepares specimens as necessaryAssists with clinical data measures and entry into the electronic health recordAssists medical providers in updating health maintenance checklist and patient's health record in Electronic Medical Record system and confirms purpose of visit.Prepares exam rooms before and after each patient, including restocking of exam rooms, operatory, and sterilizes instruments.Assists providers during physical examinations, treatments, and procedures as requestedAssists in discharging the patient at the completion of the office visit including going over the printed office visit summary; aids in the completion of medication, laboratory, and radiology orders; provides patient education information ordered by the provider; answers any final logistical questions the patient may have.Perform other duties as directedQualificationsMinimum QualificationsHigh school graduate or equivalentClinical Medical Assistant Certification indicating completion of program from an approved school or hospitalCPR Certification (including BLS Child, Infant, Adult)Minimum one year back office experiencePreferred Qualifications PACE experienceBilingual Armenian and EnglishRequired Skills/Knowledge/AbilitiesKnowledge of and ability to perform the full range of professional medical assistant dutiesAbility to perform vitals, assist patients in exam rooms, stock exam roomGood knowledge of general back office procedures, such as taking vitals, performing venipuncture, administering immunizations, etc.Effective verbal and written skills necessary for communication with patients/clients, clinicians and other staffAbility to interface with all levels of personnel in a professional manner, including people of all social, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and within the constraints of government funded programsExcellent customer service skills and commitment to providing the highest level of customer satisfactionExperience/familiarity with computers, business e-mail, communication systems and internet search capabilities and proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and ExcelPay $24.00 - $27.00 Depending on Experience
