Chemical Packaging Operator / Forklift Operator – 1st ShiftLocation: Houston, TX 77003 Pay Rate: $18.00/hour Shift: 1st Shift – 6:00 AM start Employment Type: W-2 Contract Assignment: September 28, 2026 – November 30, 2026 Openings: 1 Industry: Chemical Manufacturing / ProductionPosition OverviewWe are seeking a Chemical Packaging Operator / Forklift Operator to support a chemical manufacturing operation in Houston, TX.This is a hands-on production position responsible for operating packaging equipment, handling and transporting chemical materials, packaging finished materials into appropriate containers, completing production documentation, and operating a forklift.The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of manufacturing experience and at least 1 year of forklift experience. Previous chemical manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate equipment and processes used in the packaging of chemical materials.Package materials into appropriate containers according to established procedures.Handle, store, and transport chemical materials safely.Operate forklifts and other motorized and non-motorized material-handling equipment.Perform manual and automated process operations.Operate field controls and computer-controlled interface systems.Follow formulas, operating instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals.Complete plant data sheets and production documentation.Complete environmental reports, inventory sheets, and forklift inspection reports as required.Monitor packaging processes to maintain quality and productivity standards.Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the assigned production area.Follow all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.Respond appropriately to emergency situations, including emergency shutdown procedures.Complete required Operator Training, certification testing, and plant training.Work overtime, weekends, and holidays when required by production demands.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED.1–2 years of manufacturing experience.1+ year of forklift operating experience.Chemical manufacturing experience preferred.Strong English reading and comprehension skills.Basic math and technical skills.Ability to read and interpret safety rules, formulas, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.Comfortable working with manufacturing equipment and computer-controlled process systems.Strong attention to safety, quality, and accuracy.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Ability to successfully complete required operator training and certification.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, sit, climb, and balance throughout the workday.Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds with assistance.Ability to perform physical production and material-handling activities throughout the shift.Work EnvironmentThis position works in an active chemical manufacturing environment.Candidates should be comfortable working around:Moving mechanical equipmentChemical materials, including acids and basesFumes and airborne particlesWet and/or humid conditionsHeatNoise and vibrationOutdoor weather conditionsElevated work areasSafety procedures and required PPE must be followed at all times.Schedule & OvertimeThis is a 1st-shift position beginning at 6:00 AM.
