Job description
Packaging & Assembly Operator – WarehouseWe are seeking dependable Packaging & Assembly Operators to support warehouse and manufacturing operations in Norcross, GA.This is a hands-on position responsible for packing and assembling products and materials to complete customer orders. The role requires strong attention to detail, accurate counting and basic math skills, the ability to follow written assembly instructions, and a commitment to checking completed work for accuracy and quality.Employees will work both independently and as part of a warehouse team and must be comfortable standing for extended periods and handling cartons weighing up to 50 pounds.Key ResponsibilitiesPackage and assemble products and materials according to work instructions and order requirements.Apply materials to products as required to complete orders.Read and follow pick slips, written instructions, and assembly plans.Use basic hand tools and standard equipment to complete packaging and assembly tasks.Accurately count completed pieces and verify quantities.Double-check completed work for accuracy before moving it to the next step.Create and apply the correct labels to completed stock and materials.Communicate with coworkers and supervisors to ensure products and materials are properly packed and assembled.Identify and report quality concerns or equipment defects to the supervisor.Properly recycle used cardboard.Maintain the packaging and assembly department in a clean, organized, and hazard-free condition.Perform additional production or warehouse duties as assigned.These duties are consistent with the formal position description, which emphasizes accurate counting, labeling, interpreting assembly plans, basic hand tools, quality reporting, and housekeeping.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED.Ability to read and review pick slips, assembly plans, and written instructions.Strong basic math skills and ability to accurately count completed pieces.Strong attention to detail and ability to double-check completed work.Ability to follow instructions precisely.Comfortable using basic hand tools.Ability to adapt to changing workplace priorities.Ability to work independently and as part of a warehouse team.Good communication and teamwork skills.Ability to maintain an organized and safe work area.Ability to consistently work the 4:00 AM–2:00 PM Monday–Thursday schedule.Preferred QualificationsPrevious warehouse, packaging, assembly, production, or manufacturing experience.Familiarity with manufacturing safety standards, including OSHA practices.Experience with Infor LN or a similar warehouse/inventory system.Forklift or other heavy-equipment operating experience.Current forklift certification is a plus.Physical Requirements & Work EnvironmentAbility to lift and stack cartons weighing up to 50 pounds.Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.Comfortable walking and standing on concrete flooring.Ability to perform repetitive packaging and assembly activities.Comfortable working in ambient warehouse temperatures.
