Packaging Mechanic
Location: Flanders, NJ
Pay: $25/hour + overtime
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
Work Environment: On-site
About the Role
We are looking for a Packaging Mechanic to join a growing manufacturing team in Flanders, NJ. This is a hands-on position focused on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing packaging equipment to keep production running smoothly.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of hands-on maintenance experience , preferably working with packaging machinery, and be comfortable troubleshooting equipment independently.
Responsibilities
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair packaging equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance and inspect machines for potential issues.
Troubleshoot breakdowns and replace parts as needed.
Work with vertical and horizontal packaging machines , including Matrix and Hayssen equipment.
Troubleshoot basic PLCs, relays, and machine controls .
Read equipment manuals and maintenance instructions.
Operate a forklift/fork truck.
Assist with general building maintenance as needed.
Prioritize multiple maintenance needs and respond quickly to equipment issues.
Qualifications
3+ years of hands-on maintenance experience .
Experience maintaining and repairing packaging equipment .
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Experience with vertical or horizontal packaging machinery.
Basic PLC and machine controls knowledge.
Ability to read technical manuals and instructions.
Forklift/fork truck experience required.
Bilingual is a plus.
