Job description
Packaging OperatorObjective of the Position:Packaging Operators are responsible for packaging product, warehousing, food safety, quality control, and sanitation.Tasks and Responsibilities:Operate packaging equipment including packaging machines, scales, sealers, metal detector, palletizer, and code dater (including setup, changeovers, and standard operations)Start and stop equipmentReplenish packaging supplies (stretch wrap, banding, sheeting, boxes, etc.)Print labels and track productionEmpty finished product binsRe-palletize productMove pallets using forklift or pallet jack (as trained)Load pallets into palletizerPerform basic operational maintenance on equipmentFollow work instructions and SOPsPerform various duties in multiple departments as directedFood Quality:Perform net weight checksVerify packaging seal integrityMonitor packaging qualityInspect finished productTake QC samplesReport quality issuesFood Safety:Follow company cGMP programPerform sanitation proceduresConduct HACCP-related checks (water activity, moisture)Report food safety issuesOccupational Safety:Follow company safety protocols and proceduresReport safety risksPhysical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently. Position requires lifting, bending, crawling, kneeling, standing for long periods, reaching, walking, and climbing ladders.
