Join our company and be part of an innovative team that's First in Food.Location DescriptionOur plant, located in Lansing, IL, pasteurizes raw eggs to remove harmful bacteria for a more safe product to the foodservice industry.ResponsibilitiesThis production role supports daily operations by inspecting egg products and packaging, applying correct labels, supplying materials to equipment, stacking finished products, and maintaining a clean work area. The position follows established procedures while ensuring safety, food quality, and packaging standards are consistently met. The Packer position performs rotation of all general production and labor duties in the department. This position is responsible for inspecting product and packaging. Position helps ensure correct packaging, counts and labels.This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.Duties and Responsibilities:Inspect/Check the quality of eggs. Removes broken eggs.Places proper labels on boxesUnderstands dates, expiration and item numbers.Ensures that bags and pails are properly sealed and clean.Stacks flats of CHEX product onto the proper pallet.Supply material to Top Lidder machineLoad material into case erectorHelps keep production area clean.Follows Proper SOP'S (Standard Operation Procedures)Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone.Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks, making sure product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.Able to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.Perform other duties as assignedQualificationsEducation and Experience Required:Less than high school education.Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:Prior manufacturing experience preferred.Able to use computer touch screens to start and stop lines as needed.Must be able to obtain and maintain a company pallet jack license. Experience with pallet jack preferred.Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.Effective communication skills.Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers.Capability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral form.Demonstrates the ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships and work effectively with others to complete work assignments.Able to safely lift and carry 50lbs.Able to work independently or with others in a team environment depending upon the assignment.Self-motivated while also willing to ask questions and seek direction.Displays responsible behavior at work.Open to change.Ability to work in cold, wet, noisy, dusty and humid environments.Ability to work around required cleaning solutions.Possesses good hand-eye coordination.Able to stand on hard surface most of the shift, ascend and descend stairs, bend, stoop or crouch, grasp and reach.The pay range for this position is $16.63 to $18.46 per hour.
