PACU Registered Nurse – Travel Nursing Job in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Travel PACU RN Job Details – Fort Wayne, IN
Job Title: PACU Registered Nurse (Travel)
Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana (46804)
Assignment Type: Travel Nursing
Healthcare Setting: Specialty Orthopedic Hospital
Start Date: September 8, 2025
End Date: December 8, 2025
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 10:00 AM – 7:30 PM (4x9-hour shifts/week)
Hours per Week: 40
No weekends or on-call required
Patient Ratio: 2:1
Unit Size: 27 beds (16 pre-op / 11 PACU)
Monthly Department Volume: ~500 patients
EMR System: Cerner (preferred)
PACU RN Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (required)
Minimum 1 year of recent PACU nursing experience (1-2 years preferred)
Experience in fast-paced PACU environments, especially with orthopedic, spine, and trauma cases
Ability to provide RN license, certifications, driver’s license, and permanent home address upon submission
Travel nurses must reside more than 50 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
PACU Nurse Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from orthopedic, spine, and trauma surgeries
Monitor patient status and vital signs, ensuring safe and effective anesthesia recovery
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Educate patients and families on post-operative care and discharge instructions
Accurately document all care provided using the Cerner EMR system
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) environment
