Job Description
About Summit Chase
Summit Chase is a performance media agency specializing in paid media, attribution and measurement, and full-funnel growth strategy. We work primarily with B2B, SaaS, technology, and professional services companies, connecting media strategy, execution, and measurement to drive qualified pipeline and revenue rather than focusing solely on platform metrics. Built by senior paid media specialists, we combine hands-on channel expertise with strong technical measurement, strategic guidance, and a focus on making better long-term performance decisions for our clients.
Role Overview
The Paid Media Manager is responsible for owning the day-to-day relationship, strategy, communication, and overall success of a portfolio of Summit Chase clients.
This is not a traditional Paid Media management role focused primarily on communication and project
coordination.
Paid Media Managers are expected to understand paid media deeply enough to guide strategy, evaluate performance, identify opportunities and risks, and ensure the work being delivered meets Summit Chase standards. You will be driving strategy and doing in-platform work.
While client ownership is the primary responsibility, Paid Media Managers may also contribute in secondary roles based on their strengths, client needs, and company priorities. This can include hands-on paid media support, QA, research, reporting, conversion strategy, creative strategy, internal process development, sales support, training, or special projects.
Core Responsibilities
Client Ownership & Communication
Serve as the primary strategic point of contact for assigned clients
Build strong client relationships through responsive, clear, thoughtful communication
Lead recurring client calls and ensure conversations are focused on business outcomes, performance, strategy, and next steps
Provide clients with context and recommendations, not simply platform data
Proactively identify questions, risks, opportunities, and areas requiring additional investigation
Manage difficult client conversations with confidence, professionalism, and appropriate internal escalation
Understand each client's business model, goals, sales process, target audience, and broader marketing environment
Ensure clients understand not only what we are doing to drive performance, but why
Paid Media Strategy
Own the overall paid media strategy for assigned accounts in partnership with channel specialists and other team members
Translate business objectives into clear media strategies, testing plans, budgets, and priorities
Evaluate performance across platforms including Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, and other relevant channels
Identify meaningful performance trends and distinguish between normal platform volatility and issues requiring action
Develop recommendations around targeting, campaign structure, creative strategy, landing pages for paid media, conversion strategy, budget allocation, and testing frameworks
Consider the full customer journey rather than evaluating platforms solely on last-click or platform-reported performance
Ensure media recommendations remain grounded in business outcomes rather than vanity metrics
Performance Analysis & Reporting
Review account performance regularly and understand the story behind the data
Turn complex performance information into clear, actionable client insights
Identify what is working, what is not working, why performance may be changing, and what should happen next
Partner with analytics, conversion, and technical resources when deeper investigation is required
Contribute to QBRs, performance reviews, forecasts, presentations, and strategic planning
Maintain an understanding of pacing, spend, lead volume, pipeline, revenue, and other relevant business metrics
Quality Assurance
Maintain a high standard of accuracy across assigned accounts
Review campaign launches, optimizations, tracking, budgets, targeting, creative, and other account changes as appropriate
Ensure recommendations and client-facing materials have been reviewed for strategic and technical accuracy
Identify potential tracking, attribution, or measurement issues and coordinate with the appropriate resources to investigate them
Help reinforce Summit Chase QA processes and identify opportunities to improve them
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with conversion engineers, creative teams, analytics resources, leadership, and other Paid Media Managers
Clearly communicate client priorities and provide the context teammates need to make good decisions
Bring the right internal resources into conversations when specialized expertise is needed
Balance the needs of individual clients with team capacity, company priorities, and the long-term health of the client relationship
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following is especially valuable:
Client-Facing Agency Account Management
In-Platform Ads Management
B2B or lead-generation marketing
Budget forecasting and media planning
Client presentations and QBRs
Google Ads
Microsoft Ads
Meta Ads

Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of client-facing account management and platform experience within a digital marketing or advertising agency
Strong working knowledge of the major digital advertising platforms, with the ability to understand performance across multiple channels
Hands-on, in-platform, campaign management and optimization experience
Ability to analyze performance data and translate it into meaningful client recommendations
Very strong written and verbal client communication skills
Comfortable leading meetings and presenting strategy or performance findings
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate work
Ability to manage multiple clients, deadlines, and competing priorities
Strong judgment and ability to operate independently while knowing when collaboration or escalation is appropriate
Curiosity and willingness to investigate unfamiliar problems rather than relying on surface-level answers
Audience and targeting research
Keyword and search query analysis
Development of client presentations, QBRs, and strategic recommendations
Secondary Responsibilities
Paid media account audits
Creative strategy and creative performance analysis
Internal QA and account reviews
Other Ideal Knowledge & Experience
These areas are not required, but would be advantageous for success in the role:

Creation or improvement of internal processes, templates, documentation, and training materials
Training and mentorship of junior team members
Supporting new business pitches, audits, and sales conversations
Researching new advertising platforms, tools, tactics, or industry changes
Conversion tracking and attribution
What Success Looks Like
A successful Paid Media Manager:
Confidently leads discussions, guides the conversation, keeps meetings focused, and serves as the primary point of contact and lead on client calls

Can explain complicated paid media concepts simply and confidently
Knows when to make a decision independently and when to involve a specialist or leadership
Maintains strong organizational control across multiple clients and priorities
Produces work that is thoughtful, accurate, and strategically grounded

Present expansion and testing recommendations in a way that connects the opportunity to the client's broader business objectives
