Job DescriptionAbout The RolePrepares and finishes metal surfaces of trailers in preparation for painting process.ResponsibilitiesFollows surface preparation specifications on trailers and accessories.Follows supervisor/assistant supervisor's instructions.Ensure components are free of rust, carbon, mill scale and weld spatter prior to the painting process. May be required to use buffers and chippers etc. to clean hard to reach areas.Wash parts and trailers in Wash BayRemove excess water from parts and trailers following washing processOperate overhead crane in a safe manner.Is familiar with all equipment used and is responsible for routine maintenance and upkeep.Monitors supplies needed in area and updates supervisor as necessary.Carefully prepare trailers for blasting or painting, by masking off key components on the trailer that are not to be blasted or painted.Handle, store, and dispose of all hazardous materials properly. Successfully completes all annual training.Follow standard work and procedures.Must adhere to all safety standards set by the company.Perform other duties as assigned.Candidate RequirementsAbility to accurately read a measuring tape, follow and read instructions.Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentThe physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
