TechnicianJob Summary: Technician shall prepare all components and airframe surfaces for painting and perform the painting of the components and airframes IAW Airbus manufacturer proceduresPrimary Responsibilities:Paint Prep: 40%Perform preparation for painting to include; repairs, sanding, taping and surface preparationPerform initial inspection of components and parts to ensure all defects are noted prior to paintingPerform stripe layout as specified by customer and masking per part drawingPaint: 40%Use a variety of standard and specialized hand tools, power equipment and measuring devices and test equipmentAssure that completed work complies with FAA regulations, customer requirements and company specificationsRefinish repaired components in accordance with customer and factory standardsAdministrative and Training: 20%Follow OSHA, safety and environmental regulationsMust be able to support and train other employees with technical knowledge and skillsMust maintain clean working environmentAdditional Responsibilities:Other duties as assigned:Qualified Experience and Training:Education:Required: High School diploma or equivalentPreferred: Some Trade SchoolExperience:Required: Minimum of four (4) years of Painting and Paint preparation on metal and composite/fiberglass components.Preferred: Minimum of four (4) years of Painting and Paint preparation on metal and composite/fiberglass aircraft components.Licensure/Certifications:Required: NonePreferred: NoneTravel Required: 10% Domestic and InternationalCitizenship: Authorized to Work in the USClearance: NoneQualified Skills:Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:Required: Strong paint skillsRequired: Previous Paint workRequired: Able to read and work from blue prints and Bills of material (BOM) to ensure proper coatings are applied IAW Technical DataPreferred: NoneCommunication Skills:Required: Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form in EnglishPreferred: NoneTechnical Systems Proficiency:Required: NonePreferred: NoneComplexity of the Role:Level of Decision Making: Employee will be required to have problem solving skills for Paint to ensure that they are accepted practices, of the highest quality, and cost effective for the customer.Organizational Information:Reports to DCR Manager and follow guidance from DCR Paint LiaisonDirect Reports: # of Exempt Reports: 0# of Non-exempt Reports: 0Job Dimensions:The paint process is one step of the overhaul process, and this position is necessary to make this step efficient.Nature of Contacts:Cursory Communication on a daily Basis with internal parties onlyPhysical Requirements:Onsite or remote: 100% OnsiteVision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. DailyHearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms. DailySpeaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. DailyEquipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. DailyCarrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. DailyLifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. DailyPushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. DailySitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer.Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. DailyStanding: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor. DailyTravel: able to travel independently and at short notice.Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
