Painter Cat II

Reports to: Supervisor of Plant Operations
Job Summary
To help maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.
Essential Job Functions
Assists with the completion of painting tasks and related assignments, including general maintenance.
Performs all duties associated with the painting trade, following the recognized procedures and techniques.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Assists with snow removal as needed.
Minimum Requirements
Two (2) years experience as a painter (required.) A painting apprenticeship will be considered.
Demonstrated skill in the use of tools and equipment pertaining to the painting trade.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Valid class C license required
Furnish own tools (Special tools furnished by the Board of Education).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Maintains a safe operating environment.
Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Climbs and works at heights in excess of forty feet.
In the normal course of employment, employee regularly lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs., frequently lift objects weighing between 50-100 lbs. and occasionally, with assistance, lift objects weighing in excess of 100 lbs.
Physical Demands
Heavy Work: Exerting exceptionally strong but not constant physical effort to perform very heavy work, typically involving some combination of balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, walking and may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of heavy objects and materials (up to 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds or over occasionally with assistance), visual perception and discrimination, the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds, perceive and discriminate color, perceive odors, and require oral communications.

Salary – Plant Maintenance Salary Scale
Placement on the salary scale is determined in accordance with the salary placement procedures of Carroll County Public Schools and is based on verified education and relevant experience. Final placement is subject to review and approval by the Human Resources Department.
