Painter - CustomConcord, NCOverviewPosition Type Full TimeDescriptionGeneral Statement of Job: Responsible for use paint application techniques and equipment to professionally finish interior and exterior surfaces.Essential Job FunctionsMeasures area to be painted; determines quantity and type of paint to use for the project.Identifies and orders appropriate paint colors and finishes, mixing if needed.Prepares surfaces to be painted, which may include removing prior finishes through chemicals, grit blast, or other methods.Masks, removes, covers, or otherwise protects furniture, hardware, trim, and other nonpainted surfaces.Applies paint to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, sprayers, airbrushes, stencils, and other tools.Performs basic stencil and line work, which may include painting lines on factory floors, parking lots, and other surfaces.Complies with chemical and waste storage and disposal regulations and best practices.Builds scaffolding according to safety regulations.Maintains a clean work area.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to follow instructions and provide consistent work.Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsEducation, Experience, and Training: Completion of a formal apprenticeship program, previous experience, or on-the-job training required. Motivated and works well with others. OSHA30 preferred. Willingness to embrace change in a growing company.Standards of Performance: Demonstrate informative and professional assistance when working with customers, vendors, and team members. Individuals may be exposed to cramped workspaces, contaminants, extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. Performing this job requires frequent use of hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools, or controls. Must be able to sit, talk, hear, and stand frequently throughout the day. Must be able to climb, reach above shoulder height, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl frequently. The position occasionally may require lifting heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) and performing strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Individuals may occasionally be exposed to hazardous conditions, high places, and /or hazardous equipment. May work with or around chemicals that require knowledge of a safety data sheet. Prolonged periods of standing and painting. Must have adequate balance and ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.Working Environment and Conditions: This position requires working in varying environments including indoors and outdoors. Individuals may be exposed to varying temperatures including very hot (above 90 degrees F) or very cold (below 32 degrees F) and all-weather conditions. Individuals may be exposed to cramped workspaces, contaminants, extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. This position requires a flexible work schedule; night and/or weekends may be required.Tools & Equipment: Ladders, paintbrush, paint roller, drop cloth, masking tape, paint sprayer, caulking gun, putty knife, sandpaper, scaffolding.
