Job description

Paint HelperThe Paint Helper assists Industrial Painters with surface preparation, material handling, equipment setup, and coating operations in industrial, commercial, and construction environments. This position supports painting activities by ensuring work areas, tools, materials, and equipment are prepared and maintained in a safe and efficient manner. The Paint Helper works under the direction of experienced painters and supervisors while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED preferred.Prior industrial, construction, maintenance, or general labor experience preferred.Ability to obtain and maintain all required site-specific safety training and certifications.Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.Reliable transportation to and from assigned work locations.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Basic knowledge of industrial painting and surface preparation practices preferred.Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and painting equipment.Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Ability to recognize and follow safe work practices.Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn industrial painting techniques.Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.Dependable work ethic with a commitment to safety, quality, and attendance.Essential Functions:Assist Industrial Painters with surface preparation activities, including cleaning, scraping, sanding, grinding, and masking.Prepare work areas by protecting adjacent surfaces, equipment, and materials from overspray and contamination.Transport, organize, and stage paints, coatings, tools, and supplies throughout the work area.Assist with the setup, operation, and cleanup of spray painting and blasting equipment.Mix paints, primers, and coatings according to manufacturer specifications and supervisor instructions.Clean and maintain brushes, rollers, spray equipment, hoses, and other painting tools.Remove debris, spent materials, and waste from work areas while maintaining proper housekeeping standards.Assist in loading, unloading, and handling painting materials and equipment.Support painters during coating applications and touch-up activities.Follow all job site safety requirements, company policies, and customer procedures.Perform general labor duties in support of painting operations.Physical Demands:Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach throughout the workday.Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly and more with assistance.Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, elevated platforms, and aerial lifts.Ability to perform repetitive hand, arm, and wrist movements.Ability to work in confined spaces when required.Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses, face shield, gloves, hearing protection, FR clothing, steel-toed footwear, fall protection, respiratory protection and other project-specific PPE.Work Environment:Work is performed in industrial facilities, fabrication shops, construction sites, refineries, petrochemical plants, and maintenance environments.Exposure to paint fumes, dust, solvents, chemicals, airborne particles, and varying weather conditions.Regular exposure to noisy environments requiring hearing protection.May be required to work indoors and outdoors in hot, cold, humid, or inclement weather conditions.Work may involve heights, confined spaces, and proximity to moving equipment and machinery.
