Painter Position at Airbus Aerosystems KinstonAirbus Aerosystems Kinston is looking for a Painter to join our Operations department based in Kinston, NC. Our team at Airbus Aerosystems Kinston manufactures crucial aircraft components. On the shop floor you'll be surrounded by individuals who are passionate about aviation and skilled in areas like electrical, structure and quality. Join our team and help build the next generation of aircraft.The Airbus Aerosystems Kinston facility sits at the forefront of aerospace manufacturing, specializing in the production of large, advanced composite aerostructures. Our team builds critical components for the state-of-the-art Airbus A350 XWB, including the composite center fuselage and wing spar.Your Challenges:Perform various processing, coating application, and parts identification, along with the repair and minor assembly in the manufacture of company products.Develop new and improved methods of production.Use any job-related equipment (e.g., hand, power tools, air tools and computers) needed to complete/process their work assignments.Perform process activities including, e.g., painting, media blasting, masking, stenciling, part identification marking, etc. to support the production requirements.Perform hand finishing operations typical of the following: preparation of surfaces to be painted by use of pneumatic sanders or by hand.Work from Blueprints, Process Instructions, Customer specifications, Job Aids, Work Instructions, and written/verbal information.Work to and follow all Airbus, Customer, OSHA, ISO and Nadcap proceduresMust be able to access and work to material MSDS data and comply with Airbus Safety policiesMaintain certifications, qualifications, licenses or permits as required to perform workAbility to work from elevated platforms, e.g. Lifts, scaffolding, laddersSet-up and use test equipment to ensure applications meet customer requirements by performing self-inspections of in-process and finished workInput all required data into FDAQ databasePerform any pickup, rework and incorporation of changes to the product as required.Perform housekeeping duties, proper disposal of materials, and follow Airbus's "Clean as you Go" policy while performing duties in Paint Booths and designated areasMaintain and keep Paint Mix room clean and organized at all timePerform routine minor equipment maintenance as part of daily work duties (e.g., cleaning of paint equipment and routine replacement of packing's, O rings, valves, etc.)Routinely move product within the immediate manufacturing work area, including across aisle, using shop assigned equipment including ovens and overhead cranes, as required and complete transactions necessary to move product to the next operationSupport the continuous flow of product within the manufacturing process by training and assisting employees of the same or lower classification levelAssist and demonstrate practices followed during all internal and external audits.Assist Assembly Technicians as required or as requested by Manager or Team LeadAdditional Responsibilities:Other duties as assigned.Qualified Experience and Training:At least 3 years' experience in paintingMust be able and willing to work any shift to include working overtime as neededEducation:Required: High School Diploma/GED or Work Keys Assessment completion PreferredTraining from a vocational school or previous employer in the use of painting skills and practicesCitizenship:Authorized to work in the U.S.Qualified Skills: Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities: RequiredMust have basic paint skillsCommunication Skills: RequiredGood verbal and written communication skills in English.Ability to articulate complex issues to others.Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters is essential.Demonstrated effectiveness in interpersonal skills.Job Dimensions:Nature of Contacts: Moderate communication on a regular basis with internal and external parties at all levelsPhysical Requirements:Onsite: 100 %Vision: Daily able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.Hearing: Daily able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms.Speaking: Daily able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): Able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.Carrying: Weekly able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.Lifting: Weekly able to lift documents, tools, drawings, and electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.Take your career to a new level and apply online now!A full job description will be provided to candidates who progress to the interview stage or any candidate upon request.
