Job description
We have an outstanding Contract position for a Painterto join a leading Company located in theLaurel, MDsurrounding area.
Pay Rate: $24.24 - $40.24
US Citizenship is required.
Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Seeking a Painter to work as a member of a multi-craft construction team, supporting other trades for interior and exterior renewal projects. Painters prepare and paint a variety of interior and exterior architectural surfaces, machinery and equipment. They prepare and apply various types of single and multi-component coatings.
Job Responsibilities:
Survey existing coating conditions and recommend methods and techniques to restore to the desired condition.
Prepare work site and surfaces for painting, consistent with the materials to be used and in conformance with accepted industry standards and specifications.
Select, mix, and apply various interior and exterior coatings.
Clean up after each job completion, maintain a safe and orderly work area, and perform minor painting equipment maintenance as needed.
You will operate vehicles and industrial equipment to perform these duties.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
5 or more years painting experience in a commercial/industrial environment.
Working knowledge of the various interior and exterior coating systems (latex and epoxy) used in a commercial/industrial facility.
Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA requirements related to personal safety and environmental protection.
Ability to set up and operate tools and equipment associated with the painting trade.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Capable user of Personal Computers.
Requires valid state-of-residence driver's license in good standing.
Able to obtain Secret-level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
Desired Qualifications:
Are a member in the Society of Protective Coatings (SSPC) or National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE).
Possess OSHA or EPA training or certification.
