Painter Level 1/2/3 - Day ShiftLevel 1 - $21.00 - $24.00Level 2 - $23.00 - $27.25Level 3 - $26.00 - $31.00Core ResponsibilitiesPerform advanced surface preparation (abrasive blasting, power tool cleaning, chemical prep)Apply industrial coatings (epoxy, polyurethane, high-temp coatings) using spray systems, rollers, or brushesInterpret coating specifications, blueprints, and technical data sheetsEnsure proper coating thickness (DFT), adhesion, and finish qualityConduct touch-ups, repairs, and rework as neededTroubleshoot coating issues (runs, orange peel, contamination, curing problems)Quality Control & InspectionMeasure and verify coating thickness using gaugesInspect surfaces before and after coating for defectsEnsure compliance with industry standards (e.g., NACE/AMPP, SSPC)Maintain detailed records of coating processes and materials usedLeadership & SupportMentor and guide Paint Helpers and lower-level paintersAssist supervisors with workflow planning and job prioritizationTrain team members on equipment use and safety proceduresSafety & ComplianceStrictly follow safety procedures for hazardous materials and confined spacesEnsure proper use of PPE, including respirators and protective gearComply with environmental regulations for coatings and waste disposalWork EnvironmentFabrication shops, skid yards, or outdoor industrial sitesExposure to fumes, dust, and high-noise environmentsPhysically demanding (lifting, climbing, working at heights or in tight spaces)RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent (trade certification preferred)Several years (typically 3–5+) of industrial painting experienceStrong knowledge of coating systems and application techniquesAbility to read and interpret technical documents and specsPreferred QualificationsCertification in industrial coatings (e.g., NACE/AMPP Coating Inspector)Experience with sandblasting and automated spray systemsForklift, rigging, or overhead crane experience
