Job description
Job DutiesCleans and prepares surface to be paintedMay apply masking tape over parts or areas that are not to be painted, or for special two-tone paint jobsMay smooth surface areas with sand paper or sanderSelects and mixes primers and finish paint colors per job specification and diagramsPours primers and paints into spray container and connects gun to air hoseTurns sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate width and pressure of sprayPulls trigger and directs spray onto work surface to apply prime or finish coatCoats some area by hand with brushes and rollersCleans spraying equipment with brushes and solventMay complete paint thickness measurements and record average thickness to meet customer specificationComplete required paperwork for paint usage, inspection report and inventory ordersPerform routine maintenance to paint booth, scrap walls, and paint, clean lights, change filtersMay perform bead, shot, and sand blastingMay paint undercoating and finishesIdentify, troubleshoot, and repair of cryogenic piping circuits and system malfunctionsComplete all required documentation for control of parts, labor hours, and work performedIdentify efficiency and quality issues; resolve or suggest improvements or resolutionsCommunicate effectively with team members, team leaders, supervisors, and customersMaintain housekeepingJob RequirementsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)Basic math skills including fractions and decimals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, manuals and drawings.May become certified in forklift operation.May become certified as respirator wearer.Working ConditionsOvertime is frequent; shift work and non-standard hours may be required.Indoor/outdoor work in all kinds of weather.Regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Equal Opportunity Employer: Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran.
