Job description

PainterThis role focuses on preparing and painting metal and other surfaces on aircraft and related equipment. You will perform complex surface preparation, apply a variety of coatings using professional tools, and ensure all work meets safety, quality, and aerospace standards. The position also includes painting ground support equipment and following detailed instructions and safety guidelines for every assignment.ResponsibilitiesPrepare metal and other surfaces on aircraft for painting, including cleaning, masking, sanding, and priming as required.Perform complex surface preparation tasks to ensure proper adhesion and finish quality for all coatings.Apply lacquers, primers, synthetic enamels, polyurethane, and epoxy coatings using spray guns, brushes, and rollers.Paint ground support equipment to specified standards and ensure consistent, high-quality finishes.Read, understand, and comply with written instructions, technical documentation, and safety information related to each job.Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate protective equipment while operating spray guns and other painting tools.Inspect completed work for defects, proper coverage, and adherence to quality and aerospace requirements.Maintain painting tools, spray equipment, and work areas in clean, safe, and operational condition.Work effectively on 2nd shift to meet production schedules and deadlines.Essential SkillsMinimum of 3 years of aerospace painting experience.Demonstrated ability to prepare aircraft metal and other surfaces for painting, including complex preparation tasks.Proficiency in applying lacquers, primers, synthetic enamels, polyurethane, and epoxy coatings.Skilled in using spray guns, brushes, and rollers for precision painting work.Ability to read and follow detailed instructions, technical specifications, and safety information.Strong attention to detail with a focus on finish quality and adherence to aerospace standards.Commitment to following safety procedures and proper handling of paints, solvents, and equipment.Ability to work reliably on a 2nd shift schedule (approximately 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM).Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience painting ground support equipment or similar industrial equipment.Familiarity with aerospace coatings, curing processes, and surface inspection methods.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a production environment.Strong work ethic and reliability in meeting shift and production requirements.Why Work Here?Join a team that values craftsmanship, safety, and quality in every project. The environment involves exposure to paints, solvents, and coatings, with established safety procedures and protective equipment to ensure safe operations. Work may require standing for extended periods and moving around aircraft and equipment in a shop or hangar setting.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valencia, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $30.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
