Finishing LaborerA growing Milwaukee company is looking for a Finishing Laborer who restores, refinishes, and enhances the appearance and durability of indoor furniture using painting, staining, and protective coatings.Key ResponsibilitiesAssessment & Planning: Evaluate furniture condition, identify repair needs, and plan the restoration or refinishing processSurface Preparation: Sand, strip, and clean surfaces; repair cracks, scratches, or broken parts; fill imperfectionsApplication of Finishes: Apply paint, stain, varnish, lacquer, or oil using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment, ensuring even coverage and smooth textureDecorative Touches: Add stencils, hand-painted details, or distressing effects as requestedFinishing & Protection: Polish, wax, or apply clear coats to protect the finish and enhance shineClient Communication: Discuss preferences, provide updates, and ensure the final product meets expectationsProficiency in painting, staining, and clear-coating techniques.Knowledge of furniture styles, wood types, and color theoryAbility to work with various surfaces (wood, metal, veneer)Strong attention to detail and craftsmanshipExperience with power and hand toolsUnderstanding of safety regulations and proper material handlingTypical Work EnvironmentIndoor settings such as residential interiors, offices, or commercial spaces.May work independently or as part of a design/refinish team.Projects can range from full restoration of antique pieces to modern refinishing of new furniture
