General Summary
This role is designed for new graduate nurses or nurses with more than 24 months of ICU experience who are developing their practice within the organization. The nurse will complete required orientation and Nurse Residency Program requirements while providing safe, evidence-based, patient-centered care. The role emphasizes professional growth, teamwork, quality, and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
Provide safe, timely, effective, and patient-centered care in accordance with unit standards, protocols, and evidence-based practices.
Assess patient and family needs, provide education, and advocate for patients and families.
Complete orientation, required competencies, and ongoing professional development.
Participate in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, research, and patient safety initiatives.
Recognize and report safety risks, adverse events, and near misses.
Maintain required regulatory, education, and competency standards.
Collaborate effectively with patients, families, physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members.
Support unit operations, including teamwork, admissions, staffing needs, and Charge Nurse responsibilities as appropriate.
Participate in staff meetings, shared governance, peer review, and unit-based recruitment and retention initiatives.
Maintain a commitment to the organization's nursing mission, vision, values, and service standards.
Work Experience
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing, is required.
More than 12 months nursing experience in procedural environment. Solid knowledge and clinical skills in administration of moderate sedation.
Current AHA BLS certification required. xhmxlyz
Must meet all unit specific certification requirements: ACLS required, PALS preferred
Benefits
This is a flat rate for PRN of $38.00 per hour.
